Forrest Sandusky Baker and Carol Fry Baker make their home in Salt Lake City, Utah. They first encountered The College Of Piping as tourists and as attendees of The College Of Piping Celtic Festival. Having enjoyed their College Of Piping experience, Forrest and Carol decided to send their grandchildren Sasha Slover and Kynaston Schultz to study piping and highland dancing at The College.
Both Sasha and Kynaston followed up their lessons at The College Of Piping by competing in the Summerside Highland Gathering. Sasha won top honors in his first-ever piping competition and Kynaston won numerous awards including first in the Highland Fling.
Forrest and Carol Baker’s belief in The College Of Piping and the people behind it has led them to create The College Of Piping’s...Baker Family Trust. The Baker Family Trust represents the largest single financial commitment in the history of The College Of Piping.
As co-founders of this Trust, Forest and Carol Baker are helping to ensure that The College Of Piping’s mission of ....”inspiring excellence in Celtic performing arts through quality educational programming”...will be carried out for generations to come.
A lot of people have put a lot of their time, effort and soul into helping to build the reputation of The College Of Piping here in Summerside. The announcement of the intention to establish The Baker Family Trust by Forrest and Carol Baker has completely validated and reinforced all of the effort put in to date and provide The College with even more incentive to carry on and stay the course for the future.
Forrest and Carol’s gift isn’t just for The College Of Piping...it is for the people of Prince Edward Island and for Highland Culture the world over!
