Destination Summerside

Prince Edward Island is located on the eastern coast of Canada and is the smallest province in Canada.

Prince Edward Island is approximately 1000 kilometres (621 miles) from Boston and 1738 kilometres (1080 miles) from Toronto. The College of Piping is located in the scenic City of Summerside the second largest city on the Island. It has a population of 16,050. Situated on a beautiful harbour, it has many recreational advantages on water and along the Trans Canada Trail that runs through the downtown area and by The College of Piping.

Weather 

Spring is comfortable with temperatures ranging from 8 to 22 Celsius (C). Summer is hot, but rarely humid. Daytime temperatures are usually in the mid-twenties. Autumn is colorful with temperatures ranging from 8C to 22C. Winter is crisp with an average temperature range of -3C to -11C. 

Transportation 

By car:
 Prince Edward Island is connected to the mainland by the Confederation Bridge which spans from Cape Jourimain, New Brunswick to Borden-Carleton, P.E.I.. Once on P.E.I. soil, The College of Piping is 28 kilometres (18 miles) away. This is a scenic drive of about 15 minutes. 

By ferry:
 A car ferry service operates from eastern PEI at Wood Islands crossing to Caribou, Nova Scotia. This ferry service operates from May to December.  Wood Islands is approximately 132 kilometres (82 miles) from Summerside. 

By air:
Charlottetown, the capital city, is a 25 minute flight from Halifax International Airport, and is an easy connection to major cities in the United States and Canada. The Charlottetown Airport is home to Air Canada, the official carrier of The College of Piping.

Summerside is a 50 minute drive west of Charlottetown on Route 2 or one hour by the Trans Canada Highway. Rental cars are available at the airport and a ground transportation service is available through The College of Piping for airport arrival and departure.
